Centennial Bridge: Impacts on Traffic and Parking
Beginning Monday June 5, the Centennial Bridge contractor will begin installing the new bridge foundations adjacent to Bertozzi Road and Lawrence Road in the vicinity of the existing bridge. This phase will increase construction activity and impact vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic along those roads. It will also restrict parking along Bertozzi Road. Plan for potential delays if using this route.
Pedestrian Safety and Construction
Construction fencing went up in February around Building 54 and Parking Lot K1 to enclose construction activities related to the Seismic Safety and Modernization (SSM) Project and the Transit Hub Utility Project (THUP). The fencing closes off some previously well-traveled pedestrian pathways in a central part of the Lab. Marc Restrepo, project manager with the Projects and Infrastructure Modernization Division (PIMD), shared some of the reasons for the fence location, and why some key pedestrian pathways must remain closed.
